What's the Directing safely course about?
Directing safely is designed to support directors in leading the health and safety agenda in private, public and third sector organisations.
The course reflects the principles set out in the Institute of Directors/Health and Safety Executive guidance, 'Leading health and safety at work' (HSE leaflet reference - INDG417).

What does the course aim to do?
The Directing safely course aims to give directors and owners of small and medium-sized enterprises (those with less than 250 employees) an understanding of the moral, legal and business case for proactive health and safety management, and to give guidance on effective risk management.

How long is the course?
One day, a minimum of six hours (including assessments).

Who should attend?
The Directing safely course is for people with strategic responsibility for determining effective health and safety management and putting it into practice in their organisation.
